Matthew Harding
CEO and Chief Data Scientist
Dr. Matthew Harding is an Econometrician and Data Scientist who develops techniques at the intersection of machine learning and econometrics to answer Big Data questions related to individual consumption and investment decisions in areas such as energy, water, health and consumer finance. He has extensive experience in designing and evaluating large-scale field experiments in collaboration with industry leaders to measure the individual and social consequences of individual or corporate choices and the extent to which Big Data can be used to improve choices and lead to more accurate and targeted programs and products. Dr. Harding has a wealth of applied research experience as the Founding Director of the Duke - UNC USDA Center for Behavioral Economics and Healthy Food Choice Research and the Duke Energy Data Analytics Lab. He has also worked as an expert consultant for the Department of Justice, World Bank, Apple Inc., Franklin Energy and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He is also currently a Full Professor of Economics and Statistics at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Harding held previous faculty positions at Duke University and Stanford University in the Department of Economics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Oxford, and his B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from the University College London.

He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.

Their work focuses on evaluating and improving the performance, accuracy, and usability of language-driven technologies. Jervin Geronimo serves as the Operations Manager at EcoMetricx, where he collaborates closely with the CEO to drive business development initiatives and oversee the strategic expansion of the company’s Philippine branch. With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University and an Associate of Science in Social and Behavioral Sciences, Jervin brings a multidisciplinary perspective to operational leadership. Prior to joining EcoMetricx, Jervin managed a team of nine employees in a previous role as a restaurant manager, honing his skills in team leadership and organizational management. His foundational business acumen was further developed through active involvement in his family’s entrepreneurial ventures, providing him with practical insights into business operations. Xiaosi Gu

Dr. Xiaosi Gu is Professor of Psychiatry and Biomedical Informatics & Data Science, and Director of the Computational Psychiatry Unit at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Gu is a Director for the Society for Computational Psychiatry, Editor-in-Chief of the journal Computational Psychiatry, a Reviewing Editor at eLife, and has served as a reviewer for numerous funding agencies including the NIMH, NIDA, NSF, the Wellcome Trust, Medical Research Council (UK), and DFG (Germany). Outside the lab, Dr. Gu is a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness, regularly speaking at public forums including a TEDx talk in 2018.

Ming Hsu

My name is Ciprian-Octavian Truică, and I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest (formally named University Politehnica of Bucharest, name changed in 2023). Martin Wagner

Dr. Martin Wagner is an Econometrician and Economist who develops new econometric techniques for a wide range of topics such as portfolio management and optimization, capital stock estimation, the environment-growth nexus and economic convergence. He has significant experience in applied economic analysis and policy making, having served as the Chief Economist of the Central Bank of Slovenia. During his tenure, he is responsible for the economic analysis, research, financial stability and macroprudential policy, financial statistics, and international relations. Dr. Wagner continues to work with the Central Bank of Slovenia as Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor and serves as Senior Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna as well as Visiting Professor at the University of Ljubljana. He has successfully managed applied and theory-oriented projects funded by both public institutions and private companies. Some past consulting projects include the European Central Bank, the Austrian National Bank, the Bank of Slovenia and OLZ and Partners Asset and Liability Management. He is also currently the Vice Dean and Full Professor for Economics - heading the Quantitative Economics Division - at the University of Klagenfurt in Austria. Dr. Wagner held previous faculty positions as the Full Professor of Econometrics and Statistics at TU Dortmund University in Germany and Full Professor of Empirical Economics and Applied Econometrics at the University of Graz in Austria. Dr. Wagner received his PhD-equivalent (Dr.techn.) degree with a thesis in econometric theory from the Technical University of Vienna, his “Habilitation” in Economics from the University of Bern in Switzerland, his MSc-equivalent (Dipl.Ing.) degree in Applied Mathematics from the Technical University of Vienna, and his Diploma degree in Economics from the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna.
